Tasmanian Early Years Foundation Grants Program

The Foundation’s objective is to support and promote the wellbeing, development and learning of Tasmanian children up to the age of six years. To help meet this objective, the Foundation is offering grants with a total allocation of $300,000 for 2008-09. Not for profit organisations and service providers from all tiers of Government are eligible to apply.

The Foundation is looking to sponsor initiatives that enhance existing services, build on existing family and community strengths or develop new approaches for:

1.   Providing opportunities for, or services and opportunities that raise awareness of, early literacy and numeracy, quality day care and education.

2.   Promoting partnerships and collaborative approaches to deliver services to young children and their families.

3.   Providing information, support or assistance to young parents about pregnancy and parenting.

4.   Providing information and support to children and their families that is responsive to cultural, ethnic and socio-economic diversity.

5.   Providing opportunities for innovative projects that aim to improve access and equity for families with young children and reduce social exclusion.

6.   Providing opportunities for people working with children and families to enhance their skills in collaborative practice, leadership, and use of strengths-based approaches.

7.    Providing opportunities to develop integrated and collaborative partnership approaches to health, early education and family support services.
