Mr Robert Rockefeller

Mr Robert Rockefeller is Tasmanian with an extensive business background as the Managing Director of the Rockefeller Group of Companies. Mr Rockefeller’s business and community interests include:

  • Vice President of the Property Council of Australia;
  • Board Member of Tasmanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TCCI);
  • Member of the University of Tasmania Foundation Inc;
  • Board Member of Ten Days on the Island; and
  • Board Member of the Property Council of Tasmania.

Robert Rockefeller is currently involved in a family property investment company, with properties primarily located in Australia and New Zealand. They specialise in retail shopping centres, commercial buildings and car parks. The Nekon Group has special interest in projects in Tasmania, which have an involvement in Antarctica, commercial and heritage properties, tourism and agriculture. Mr. Rockefeller has also provided external consulting services to the Melbourne Docklands Authority and the Federal Airports Corporation’s development of the Brisbane International Terminal. From 1989 to 1993, he worked as Vice President/Chief Operating Officer in California, for the Monarch Bay Resorts, overseeing the US $500 million dollar development. From 1982, Mr. Rockefeller worked for the Pratt Group as Investment Manager, Financial Controller and Corporate Attorney.

Mr Rockefeller graduated with a Bachelor of Law Degree, Bachelor of Commerce Degree with Majors in Accounting and Economics from Melbourne University, and was admitted to the Supreme Court of Victoria.
