Judy is the Director (Early Years) in the Tasmanian Department of Education. Her responsibilities relate to education and care, for children from birth to five years, including licensing and supporting child care services. She has also been involved in the development of the Tasmanian Government’s whole of government agenda and the Department’s ($12.6m) Launching into Learning initiative for young children and their families.
Judy represents Tasmania nationally on education and care working groups. Currently these include the Children’s Services Subcommittee of Community and Disability Services Ministers’ Advisory Council, the Early Child Reference Group of Australian Education Systems Officials Committee and the Early Childhood and Child Care subcommittee of the Council of Australian Governments’ Human Capital Working Group.
