- Vigorously promote the adoption of the objectives and functions of the Foundation pursuant to the Tasmanian Early Years Foundation Act 2005.
- Champion and support initiatives to support and promote the wellbeing, development and learning of Tasmanian children up to the age of six years.
- Act to encourage a consultative, collaborative and cross-sectoral way of working.
- Be inclusive, consultative and transparent in meeting the objectives and functions of the Foundation.
- Provide regular and publicly accessible reporting of Board activity to all Tasmanians.
- Be accountable to the community through the Parliament.
