  • Governance structure

To assist the Tasmanian Early Years Foundation in meeting its objectives a sound governance structure has been established drawing on the expertise and experience of the Board Members.

An Audit and Investment Committee, a Grants Assessment Panel and a Research Project Committee have been established to assist the Foundation to undertake its functions.

Audit and Investment Committee

The committee will ensure transparency and accountability in the management of funds, including donations, bequests, corporate sponsorship and investment of funds.

Grants Assessment Panel

The panel will assess all grant applications against the grant guidelines criteria to ensure the allocation of funds are targeted effectively across the sector in Tasmania.

Research Project Committee

The Foundation has established a Research Project Committee and Reference Group to provide a strong research structure for the exploration of issues impacting upon the wellbeing, development and learning of Tasmanian children up to the age of six years.

The Research Project Committee is comprised of Board members and a representative from the Department of Education:

  • Ms Rebecca Smith
  • Ms Judy Hebblethwaite

A Reference Group provides additional technical expertise to the Research Committee. This group includes:

  • Professor Philip Gammage
  • Professor Allan Carmichael
  • Other expert practitioners as required
